There are a couple of ways to cook fresh pumpkin: 1. You can use a rice/veggie steamer. Cut the pumpkin in half, scoop out the seeds and cut into chunks, steam for about 45 minutes or so. Peel and then mash. 2. Put a few inches of water into a big pot and cut the pumpkin in half, scoop out the seeds and cut into chunks and steam it. Peel and mash. You can always peel the pumpkin first and then steam. 3. Cut the pumpkin in half and put into a 350 oven and place in a baking dish with about 1 inch of water and cover. Bake for about 1-1 1/2 hours.
